Marge Goldwater has been going to Israel regularly to survey the contemporary art scene for twenty-five years. After serving as a curator at the Fort Worth Art Museum and the Walker Art Center, Marge opened a gallery representing Israeli artists in SoHo. She then spent eleven years directing the Schusterman Visiting Israeli Artist Program and brought more than 100 leading Israeli artists of various disciplines to teach for a semester in U.S. colleges and universities. She is now focused on advising private collectors and foundations on acquisitions of painting, photography, and sculpture by eminent Israeli artists and young artists whose careers are beginning to take shape.
The artists shown here are a sampling of the many artists with whom she works.
Often, Marge counsels clients going to Israel on which artists and galleries to visit, working with them in advance to structure their time to see the best of Israeli art. She is also available to accompany individuals on an art-intensive journey in Israel, exploring unusual sites and sources, as well as studios and galleries, and meeting key figures in the art community.
